David E. Woolverton has been in ministry for over 35 years. He is an ordained pastor, and has been serving in churches facing turn-around ministry situations. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Religion from Albright College (Reading, PA) and Masters of Divinity degree with a concentration in pastoral care and crisis intervention from Princeton Theological Seminary (Princeton, NJ). He also received his Doctor of Ministry degree in Conflict Leadership from Trinity Theological Seminary (Newburgh, IN). David has had intensive clinical training in hospital settings with a focus on emergency and trauma care, as well as HIV/AIDS palliative and critical care. He is a Spiritual Care Professional with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, as well as a member of the American Association of Christian Counseling.
In 2003, David founded a non-profit Christian counseling agency to address mental health needs by providing high-quality, Christ-centered counseling at below-market cost to the under-served population in Western Lancaster County, PA. He has served in leadership positions on non-profit boards and committees, as well as district and conference level judicatory committees. He is the 2011 recipient of the Harry Denman Award in Evangelism.
In addition to serving as a full-time pastor at Saint Paul’s Church in Elizabethtown, PA, David is an Affiliate Professor as well as a Faculty Mentor at Kairos University. He is a clergy mentor and leadership coach; serves as a consultant in church conflict situations; leads workshops and seminars; and has published two books - Mission Rift: Leading through Church Conflict (Fortress Press, 2021), and Prophet and Loss: Embracing Grief, Nurturing Resilience, and Harnessing Authentic Leadership (WIPF & Stock, 2024).
David has been married to his wife, Kristine, for over thirty-three years. They live with their Bernedoodle in Lancaster, PA.
